Introduction

A genetic condition, coinciding with a traumatic childhood event, has led me to experience a gradual deterioration of my eyesight. The fragile and unforgiving nature of my eyes, has granted an exaggerated sense of fear and vulnerability. A feeling that the ground could fall from under my feet, time warped to breakneck speed, curtains, flashes, and halos, are signs of immediate concern. To see the world through a compromised lens, has focused my thoughts on the nature of impermanence. By using the photographic process to search in the physical world, I seek a dialogue belonging to my inner world. This work shares a journey through the collective, precarious times we live in, as seen through a personal veil of anguish, hope, and reckoning.
